With over 20+ years industry experience, Compliant owner Mike Walmsley has worked his way up through industry roles from starting in the early 2000's as a service controller Mike progressed to become an apprentice engineer as he has always had a passion for repairing electronics. After completing his apprenticship Mike was instantly promoted to a senior engineers role as he had now also been trained by another very experineced engineer in designing and commissioning all different kinds of electronic Life Safety & Security Systems. This was furthermore back us with numerous BSFPA, FIA & most recently FireQual courses. 

After excelling in a number of different roles Mike moved into management, starting with service, installation & compliance and then later into sales where he has always been guided by others due to his outgoing personality, technical ability and customer experience. 

Mike's early passion to own his own business began in 2014 when he stated his own business SMK Fire & Security which was a small customer focus family run company based within the north of Liverpool. 

When the global lockdown occurred in 2020 SMK Fire & Security Ltd joined forces with McGoff and Vickers a well established fire and security company based is Liverpool. This brought job security to all of its staff and provided its customers with the additional resources to ensure the service they were contracted to was able to be delivered during the tough times ahead. of which no one at the time could have predicted.

The following years Mike has worked for various companies providing services from advanced design to very high end projects to technical services for compliance and operational requirements.

At the end of 2025 Compliant Systems was established to continue the goal that Mike wants to bring to the industry. Now even more focused, educated & resourced to meet the needs that others may not be delivering. Compliant Systems deliver a high quality compliant service. ensuring the relevant responsible person is well informed & supported for their obligations of the life safety and security needs of the building or areas they manage. Ensuring that everything is electronically documented.
